Worst service ever Amtrak is always late the conductor is rude and almost didn't let me on the train with my bike and my bike ticket they said was invalid and there was no room for it on the train and that it wouldn't fit when you can clearly see that it does wouldn't recommend you take Amtrak go with CT rail there service is better And the conductors aren't rude. I would give them 0 Stars if I could.
New worst bus station EVER. The inside of the station somehow makes you feel three times more like you need to invest in pepper spray than the rest of the city which is a high bar. Incredible. What a barren and soulless city. I think I'm in love with it and I hope I never have to step foot in it again
The vending machine for the snacks and drinks only steal your money. Do not use them. The snack one charged me 11 bucks for a potato chip bag while the drink vending machine charged me 5 bucks. What sucks that I never get any of the items. Do they do this on purpose I believe.
This is a small station. I thought since this was the capitol, the station would be gigantic, nope. I wouldn’t want to be here on a busy holiday because it would be uncomfortably crowded. I was only here for an hour but it was quiet, small and safe. There’s only one track here so I’m assuming it doesn’t get much traffic???? Not sure. There’s a coffee shop here and a large hotel/ motel close by.
It’s an underwhelming experience even with the grand building. The waiting room is in a bus depot and has all the amenities one might need, ticket agents, restaurants, and bathrooms, but it’s low ceilings make it seem disoriented and it wreaks unpleasant smell.
Good bus: inter & intră city, & train (Amtrak & CT) station, with SUBWAY shop, restrooms

Union station is nice. One track in and out. The restrooms are clean all the time.
Too bad Dunkin is no longer there....only Subway.
It's close to some restaurants yet if you need a convenience store there is one several blocks away.
Train and bus station right off I84 highway and also close to I91. Easy in easy out with parking directly across the street if needed. Plenty of curbside pick up room whether it's family, friends, taxi or Uber. VERY relaxed compared to NYC or Boston. Restaurants, bars, and hotels within walking distance. Bushnell Park is directly south from the station and worth the walk to see the beautiful park and the Connecticut state capitol. However, watch out for Governor Dan Malloy. He very well may tax you for the view! 😉
The notice outside the train station says it only opens after 5:30 am but does that mean any costumer coming before that has to stay outside freezing out in the cold? What kind of society do we want?
